The most awaited exhibition, drupa ’08, is set to open its
doors on May 29, 2008 in Düsseldorf, Germany, where

Agfa Graphics, has announced
the launch of new Avalon N
system of Computer-to-Plate (CtP)
imaging engines at drupa. These
new, thermal CtP engines are
available in 8-up and VLF formats
with a variety of plate sizes and plateper-
hour capabilities. And this is the
first time that these platesetters will be
commercially available and
demonstrated at drupa.

The US-based Baldwin, a leading
worldwide manufacturer of
press controls and accessories, will
celebrate its 90th anniversary at
drupa ’08, presenting its current
extensive product portfolio as well
as new technical developments.
These will include systems for the sheetfed,
commercial-web, newspaper and
semi-commercial sectors.
A wide range of Baldwin equipment
can also be seen in operation on
many key press manufacturers’
stands through out the exhibition.

Goss International has recently
demonstrated its new M-600
Folia press system to sales
representatives and dealers at its facility
in Montataire, France. This new press
will be displayed at drupa 08.
The press is designed as a highproductivity
web offset alternative
for producing up to B1-format
sheeted products. The company
said that its M-600 web printing
units and new sheeter technology
would operate up to 30,000 sheets
per hour at drupa. The new sheeter,
developed exclusively in
partnership with VITS, is claimed to
allow web printing on coated stocks
with standard sheetfed inks but
without a dryer.
“This was a very tough audience
that has to believe in the press and
be able to promote it with
confidence,” explains Jean Claude
Pautrat, product management
director, Goss International. “Their
satisfaction with the demonstration
was a key milestone. We are excited
about going to drupa ’08 with
another truly innovative Goss
technology that creates new
opportunities for our customers,”
he added.

K K Printing Machines (KKPM),
an ISO 9001 certified company,
will be exhibiting their new model
RONALD Ace – 40 at drupa ’08.
This new press is a four high tower
with bearer to bearer design, with
motorised double RCR and side
register. It features heavy duty
folder, which can take up to 8 paper
webs at ease and achieve a speed
of 40,000 copies per hour.

MAN Roland newspaper
presses show the way to
completely automated newspaper
production, for example with APL,
the fully automatic plate changing
system. Developed in cooperation
with KUKA Roboter GmbH, this is
the first time robotics technology,
which has been used on a newspaper
press. They have something great
under the cover to show in drupa!

India’s largest manufacturer of
web offset presses, Manugraph
will exhibit Cityline Express–Tower,
and MDGM–430 Max, a new
version tower. Curtains would be
raised for even a few more exhibits
