World Newspaper Congress 2009
Publish Asia 2009 IFRA Expo India 2009
The World Association of Newspaper (WAN) has confirmed new dates for its World Newspaper Congress, World Editor Forum and Info Services Expo, the global meetings of the world’s press, which will now be held from November 30-December 3, 2009 in Hyderabad, India. WAN announced that the event originally scheduled for March is postponed until later in the year due to the impact of global financial downturn on travel and conference budgets in many newspaper companies.
On the other hand, Publish Asia 2009, originally planned from May 27-29 in Bangkok, has also announced to combine their event with IFRA Expo India because of the current political turmoil in the capital city of Thailand. To accommodate and provide needed infrastructures for Publish Asia’s activities including the 8th IFRA Asia Media Awards, IFRA India decided to shift their event from Hyderabad to Chennai and the revised dates so announced are September 23-25, 2009
