Two new Goss Magnum 4
presses go into production in Sweden

Adding new lessons to success, two new Goss Magnum 4 web offset presses, each with eight four-high towers totalling 64 units, went into production in Sweden in late 2008. Both presses were chosen to replace existing presses from other suppliers.

Newspaper publisher Norra Västerbotten started their press in October at a new facility in the outskirts of Skellefteå, northern Sweden. The 560 mm cut-off Magnum 4 press is configured with eight four-high towers, an N40 jaw folder with quarterfold capabilities and a balloon former.

Another press, with speed up to 45,000 cph and having the capacity to deliver up to 64 tabloid pages in three variable size stitched sections, went into production at Tryck i Norbotten’s Luleå facility in December. This press features eight four-high towers, a 1:3:3 jaw folder from the Goss Universal press series and the first installation worldwide of a new generation shaftless high-speed quarterfolder.
