Q.I. Press Controls & EAE
reap success at Amsterdam
At the recent World Publishing Expo 2014 in Amsterdam,
Q.I. Press Controls and EAE marked an overwhelming success with warm
response from the crowd, appreciating the company’s groundbreaking
IDS-3D all-in-one, fully automatic image-based colour density and
register system for web offset presses. Here bunched up a flashback of the
phenomenal presence of the companies at the event.
To the tremendous
achievement the
companies had garnered
during the World Publishing
Expo 2014, Jaco Bleijenberg,
international director-sales &
marketing, Q.I. Press Controls
and EAE appreciated the trade
exhibition as the best ever
WAN-IFRA event they have
attended till date.
High interest
Many existing customers as
well as potential ones and
other interested parties visited
the joint exhibition stand of
Q.I. Press Controls and EAE.
From the very first morning
on which the expo opened
doors to visitors, the stand
received a constant stream of
highly enthused visitors and
the exhibition team witnessing
the products and partnership
between the two organisations.
It was not only the IDS-3D and
collaboration between Q.I. Press
Controls and EAE that provided
major talking points during the
expo, marketing teams received
outpouring onside orders. In
addition, Q.I. Press Controls
gave a sneak preview of another
innovative new product for the
printing industry in the wake of
the JV with the German company
Intro International GmbH.
Launch of IDS-3D
In this era of digitisation, printing
plants continue the search for
new tools to raise productivity
levels even further. So, it comes
as no surprise that interest in the
products of Q.I. Press Controls
and EAE has been boosting up.
Introduction of IDS-3D on the
company’s stand at the World
Publishing Expo 2014 drew
attention from many quarters.
Visitors responded positively to
the new system. Likewise, the
product was also launched right
away from the exhibition floor.
A large number of customers
attended the official installation
of IDS-3D at De Telegraaf,
one of the leading Dutch
morning newspapers.
Strong partnership
During the exhibition, Q.I. Press
Controls and EAE presented
themselves as full-fledged
partners coming out together
responsible for new innovations.
Q.I. Press Controls acquired
this German company earlier
in 2014 and it’s one of the
leading specialists for press
control and automation. “The
takeover is confirmation of our
new commitment to the printing
industry,’ remarked Erik van
Holten, MD, Q.I. Press Controls.
The acquisition of EAE enables
Q.I. Press Controls to offer a
wider range of products and
meet the requirements of the
industry more effectively and
comprehensively. Visitors at
the exhibition were treated to
another new concept developed
by the two organisations—an
innovative control desk which
gives printing operators all sort
of handy new features. The desk,
together with the IDS-3D, is the
precursors of a new and fruitful
cooperation between Q.I. Press
Controls and EAE in meeting
challenges in future.
Flowing orders
Q.I. Press Controls received over
four million Euros through orders
during the exhibition. Existing
and new customers tapped
businesses from the UK, India,
Germany, Austria and Denmark.
EAE could easily relate that
the team received several large
orders, amounting to one million
Euros. Werner Ringel, MD, EAE
expressed his satisfactory note
on the popularity of EAE’s Press
Retrofit, “Demand for our Press
Retrofit with external systems,
continues to be strong and
is helping to consolidate our
strategy.” EAE Press Retrofit
can enhance the life span of
a press by 5-10 years and
is therefore an economically
effective alternative to new
investment. By optimising
the concept of external press
control and expanding the service
package, EAE anticipates being
in even better position to respond
to this demand from the market.
Orders for EAE Press Retrofit
poured in from a number
of customers from different
countries. In addition, the first
joint order for Q.I. Press Controls
and EAE came from India, where
Q.I. Press Controls is supplying
the colour register to five towers
and EAE a system upgrade. The
joint order is seen as one of
the first rewards to be reaped
from the collaboration between
the two organisations.
Further development
The bottom line is that the Word
Publishing Expo 2014 marked
a success platform for Q.I.
Press Controls and EAE. The
joint venture between the two
companies has now been set to
develop products which respond
to the changing requirements of
the printing industry through an
ongoing process of innovation
and by bringing new quality
raising products to the market.
Menno Jansen, MD, Q.I. Press
Controls defined the success of
the expo as saying, “It’s business
as usual!”
