While after a huge investment in KBA printing machines, the Bhaskar group has also focused on more quality in CtP and purchased 13 Krause LS Jet lines.

The Bennet Coleman & Co Ltd from Mumbai has recently placed another order over five complete CtP-systems to Krause. The systems consist of LS Jet 300 V high speed CtP platesetter, the Krause JetNet workflow, plate processor and video-positioned-punch / bending.

Before choosing a supplier, The Times of India (TOI) carried out extensive tests of thermal, silver and polymer violet technologies. Krause was the only supplier to live up to the expectations in reference to quality, standing times and production costs. After successful tests at the printing centre in Mumbai – Kandivli, three lines in Mumbai and four lines in Delhi, printing centre Sahibabad had already been installed in 2005 and 2006. At both printing sites, up to 4,000 printing plates are being produced daily. The decision for Krause turned out to be the right one since both printing sites produce without major disturbance or production failure. As a result, it was clear that they would again invest in further lines and with this order the number of installed Krause lines climbed up to 27 systems. This means that The Times of India is Krause’s largest customer and still plans to grow.

Mohit Jain, managing director, commented, "TOI is very delighted with the cooperative partnership with Krause and that for future investments; it will be greatly trusted in Krause and its products."

The Times of India is the leading English-speaking daily newspaper in India. Among all English newspapers, the TOI has, with over 2.4 million copies, the highest circulation and is officially the bestselling English newspaper.

Bhaskar group shows trust in Krause LS Jet lines

The Bhaskar group has also focused on more quality in CtP and purchased thirteen Krause LS Jet lines, after a huge investment in KBA printing machines. Prior to this, equipment from Agfa and Dotline has been used to produce newspaper printing plates at their facilities.

In order to cope with the increasing quality standards, all installations will be replaced by 13 complete Krause lines with LS Jet and BlueFin, of which five have been delivered already. The remaining eight CtP systems will be installed at various printing sites throughout India later.

During IFRA 2007 in Vienna itself, the top management team of the Bhaskar group realized for themselves the unrivalled Krause quality and the enormous speed of the LS Jet platesetters. For the Bhaskar group, under direction of Venkataraman, commercial director of the Bhaskar group, the excellent presentation of Krause, the brilliant product quality and the high amount of installations and service coverage in India made the difference. In the future, Krause and the Bhaskar group are expecting a fruitful long-term partnership in order to take the media industry in India into the next age.

The Bhaskar group is a conglomerate of companies at the top of the Indian media industry with the flagship newspapers Dainik Bhaskar, Divya Bhaskar and Daily News Analysis (DNA).
