TPH announces several
orders from India and overseas

One of India's leading manufacturers and exporters of single width, single circumfrence web offset presses, with over 7,500 printing units installed worldwide, The Printers House (P) Ltd (TPH) recently announced several orders from various newspaper establishments and book printers in India and overseas. A brief.

NCR Delhi based The Printers House (P) Ltd continues consolidating their footprint in Africa and South East Asian region apart from expanding their installation base across India and neighbouring countries. Recently, without disclosing the name of their customers, TPH announced several orders from newspapers and book printers.

Strengthening globally….

A leading newspaper company of West Africa has opted for a fully–automated 5-tower Orient X-Cel (36,000 cph) press of 578 mm cut-off with six auto reel changers. The customer’s objective was to have a state-of-the-art web machine at an affordable price, for starting new production centers in their country. The press being supplied by TPH is a fully-featured shaftless press, equipped with auto colour registration & cutoff control, remote inking, automatic ink pumping, stacker, besides several other automation features. It is expected to be operational by second quarter of the current year.

TPH also maintains its leadership position in South East Asian region, now receiving two new orders for newspaper presses. A large Government organization in this region, an existing customer with four lines of ‘Orient’, has ordered another Orient X-Cel (36,000 cph) press of 578 mm cut-off. This is a fully-featured press equipped with several automation features, consisting of three 4-Hi towers, one mono unit and a folder. The augmentation has been done by the customer to meet the growing demand for its newspaper. This is the 13th ‘Orient’ press in this country, making TPH numero uno by far.

A new newspaper company in a neighbouring country, which is part of a leading business group, has gone by testimonials of other ‘Orient’ customers in the market. Subsequent to carrying out extensive checks and references, they placed an order for a Orient X-Cel press to be installed at their new printing facility. This Orient press of 546 mm cut-off, equipped with several automation features, comprises three 4-Hi towers, one mono unit and a folder. This press is under installation at the moment and should generate a very positive sentiment in the region for ‘Orient’ presses. The initial projected print run of the customer’s daily newspaper is about 1,00,000.

Consolidating the domestic market …

A top national newspaper group based in Northern India has placed repeat orders of an Orient X-Cel (36,000 cph) press consisting of six 4 Hi towers equipped with all standard automation features, automatic reel changers, automatic colour register, automatic cut-off register system etc. This group already has over five hundred printing units from TPH.

Another leading newspaper group based in central India, an existing customer of TPH, has also ordered another new Orient X-Cel (36,000 cph) press, for a new press site. This press, capable of printing 24 pages in 4+4 colour, is equipped with several automation features. This press too is capable of adding-on optional high-end automation features in future. The same newspaper group has over 300 print units from TPH already in production.

Besides, several regional newspaper groups based in North India have placed add-on 4Hi towers to their existing Orient presses to meet their increased colour pagination requirements. A redeeming feature is these many newspaper groups in India are increasingly turning to automation to meet the twin objectives of improving productivity and lowering production costs. While some of the earlier supplied presses from TPH were with conventional features, the company now finds many of their existing customers are ordering high-end automation features like automatic reel changers, automatic colour register systems, spray dampening etc, in addition to standard automation features -brushmist, pneumatics and motorization.

Large volume book printers rely on Orient…

TPH also announced firm orders of 12 Orient Super presses for book printing in 4+4 colour. Interestingly, these twelve customers are spread throughout the country. It is encouraging to note that while making a transition from a imported sheetfed presses to Indian web offset press for greater speeds and to lower production costs, many large volume publishers and printers have shown immense faith in Orient web presses. They are very confident that their print requirements and standards will be easily met by an Orient web offset press.
