Launched at the PRINTPACK INDIA 2017, Newslight 36 was shown running live during the expo, pulling big crowd to the unique and salient features of the newly unpacked newspaper press. Those who have witnessed the live demonstration of the press at the expo and the production plant of PRAKASH Web Offset in Faridabad appreciate the competencies of the press. One of the leading media houses in the country has placed order for three press lines (six towers with six SG50 auto pasters and 36000 speed folder), and one press line is currently running in production at Noida.

Revealing some salient features of Newslight 36, Saurabh Gupta, director, PRAKASH Web Offset, said they have designed and engineered the press, keeping in mind all that it takes in printing and production of a quality newspaper in today’s competitive market. Some unconventional salient features of the press include: sturdy design with ‘H’ type architecture; compact footprint; all press controls on console with user-friendly software; fine metallurgy and enough working space in the machine; bearer-to-bearer cylinders contact for long life and minimum maintenance; helical gears for smooth power transmission and less print disturbance; optimum web wrap angle for perfect registration; bigger ink ducts for long print runs; high degree of press safety features and interlocks; fully automatic splicer (SG 50); 2:2:2 jaw type folder, and full automation options.

Newslight 36 has a score of added advantages over the conventional newspaper presses. This versatile press requires less maintenance because of its heavy duty design and it is reliable for high print quality. Long life of the press and its parts are guaranteed because of its bearer-to-bearer contact. Newslight 36 boasts significant print registration stability due to its helical gears and high precision parts. Unique gear train and close tolerance cylinders arrangement of the press result in ‘less print waste’.
Featured with a lot of safety features, operators running Newslight 36 are safe and they can avoid any press accident and machine breakdown. Other features like complete programmable logic controller (PLC) and HMI (human machine interface) of the press make it quite operator friendly. Newslight 36 is easy for add on with existing presslines (shafted or shaftless version). Newslight 36 is available in cut-off sizes—508mm, 533mm, 546mm and 578mm. And most of all, the press is ideal for multiple editions in a single night.
