Neil who worked as Managing Editor of BBC Online and previously held roles on The Wall Street Journal and The Guardian has announced as a new editor of The Scotland. He spent his early journalistic career on The Scotsman and Edinburgh Evening News. Born in Glasgow and lives in Edinburgh, he takes charge of The Scotsman with the brief to expand its coverage in politics and opinion, business, the environment and education, the arts and Scottish lifestyle, in particular health and sport.
