Dainik Bhaskar’s well-implemented circulation strategy delivers strong results

DB Corp Limited (DBCL), one of India’s largest newspaper houses, which is home to flagship newspapers, Dainik Bhaskar, Divya Bhaskar, Divya Marathi and Saurashtra Samachar, has announced its audited financial results for year ended March 31, 2018. In the results of the company’s operational and financial performance, it is stated that Dainik Bhaskar’s well-implemented circulation expansion strategy has delivered strong results, as commendable performance achieved on the back of higher circulation base and increased cover price.

Dainik Bhaskar almost received 18 percent increase in nine months from around 51 lakh copies in June end 2017 to around 59.6 lakh copies as on March end 2018, an increase of around 9 lakh copies, particularly in the markets of Bihar, Rajasthan and Gujarat. Over the past five years, covering from 2011 to 2016, the newspaper reported 15 percent CAGR growth driven by yield in core legacy markets – much above the industry reported numbers.
