Italian printer STEC ready for additional jobs with Performance Package from QIPC-EAE

Italian printer Società Tipografico Editrice Capitolina (STEC) is gearing up for extra orders of Performance Package from Q.I. Press Controls – Engineering Automation Electronics (QIPC-EAE). The package from the Dutch specialist in measuring and control equipment ensures that Goss Uniliner press at STEC will perform according to the standards that apply in the printing industry today.

Currently, STEC in Rome is expanding its production as the company receives extra demands from customers. “We are very proud to have earned the trust of new partners who rely on us for their production,” says Alberto Vescovi, Director, Società Tipografico Editrice Capitolina (STEC).

Alberto saw the perfect motivation to invest in his printing facility again. “We want to make sure that we can deliver a printed product of the highest quality as efficiently as possible. We have had good experiences working with QIPC-EAE in our setup in Monza and know what their systems can do for a press. That’s why we came to them to upgrade our Goss Uniliner press in Rome,” he comments.

Performance Package

Goss Uniliner at STEC in Rome consists of 7 towers and a folder. The press has been fully upgraded with a Performance Package from QIPC-EAE, which consists of 14 mRC-3D cameras for colour registration and again 14 mRC-3D cameras for controlling cut-off and side-lay registration. It also includes hardware and software upgrades by means of a new interface and a retrofit of the EAE INFO system.

STEC thus takes full advantage of the fact that EAE falls under a holding company with QIPC. “The Performance Package provides our customers like STEC with synergy benefits,” says Harold Drinhuyzen, Ares Sales Manager, QIPC. He adds, “Not only do they benefit from attractive conditions, but they also have the advantage of a single point of contact for both companies.”

Appropriate product package

The new QIPC-EAE hardware and software on the Goss Uniliner at STEC will make the press work more efficiently, with less waste and with an end product that is more consistent and of higher quality. Agent GMDE played an important role in finding the right solution for both STEC and QIPC-EAE. “Thanks to GMDE, we have found the product package that fits exactly what we need now,” says Alberto, adding, “We have good relationships with both QIPC-EAE and GDME. Given the extra production and the cooperation with these partners, we look to the future with great confidence.”

QIPC–EAE is the result of the acquisition of EAE by Q.I. Press Controls (QIPC) in 2014. EAE is a leading supplier of control, automation and software solutions for the printing industry.
