WAN-IFRA seminar in New Delhi
Ramping up revenue
M
oney saved is money earned’ goes the saying. That too with the downturn in the economy taking its toll from the industry, there was no better time than now to introspect the business process and bring in the best practice to save cost. Indian newspapers have realised it long enough as it was evident from the discussions at the recent two-day seminar on the topic ‘Cost control and revenue opportunities in newspaper production’ organised by WAN-IFRA in New Delhi (Jan 18-19, 2010).
The event chaired by Manfred Werfel, deputy CEO of WAN-IFRA and executive director of newspaper production, highlighted some of the best practices adopted by the Indian newspapers to save cost and create new revenue opportunities. WAN-IFRA recently conducted a survey among publishers worldwide and it rightly pointed out ‘cost cutting’ and ‘new business development’ as the trend for the year 2010.
