Literary celebrations of Mathrubhumi

Pulling together over 150 international and Indian writers with sessions devoted to divergent topics, trends, ideas and genres ranging from fiction, poetry, nonfiction, politics, environment, travel and cinema prominently, Malayali daily Mathrubhumi is celebrating its ‘Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters’ on February 02-04 at Thiruvananthapuram. Some big names of writers who will take part in the festival include Oksana Zabuzho, Shashi Tharoor, William Dalrymple, Bigao Chuol, Deepak Unnikrishnan, Felicia Yap, Kurkov, Mohammed Hanif, Andrei Kurkov, Balachandran Chullikad, Raghu Rai, among others. The festival set to be melding diverse literary and cultural forms will also celebrate Indian, Malayalam, and world literature gathered from around 15 countries.

Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters will witness a plethora of musical and visual performances, narrations, augmented reality sessions and glimpses of tradition and cuisines of Kerala. One of the main objectives of the festival is to bring an insight in to the current trends in writing and the challenges facing verbal expression in a shape and changing trends in the industry with the onset of digital era.
