New media houses increasingly adopting ppi Media’s AdSelf cross-channel ad portal
Leading news media houses in India and abroad are using ppi Media’s portal AdSelf, which features new functions on a regular basis. New interfaces, such as the interface to mobile de, and future support for social media ads, are unique features of the self-service portal for classified ads.
Media houses are transforming AdSelf into a true cross-channel ad portal that B2B and B2C customers can use to easily place print and digital ads. ABP Group in India and media house VRM in Mainz, the publisher of popular daily Nürnberger, have already relied on ppi Media’s self-service ad portal. AdSelf allows both private individuals and commercial customers to easily place template-based ads in newspapers and magazines.
Head-quartered in Kolkata, ABP Group is publisher of two widely read newspapers, Anandabazar Patrika, The Telegraph and magazines such as Fortune India, Anandamela, Unish-Kuri, Sananda, Anandalok, The Telegraph in Schools (TTIS), Desh and Boier Desh. The group also runs a handful of news channels like ABP News (Hindi), ABP Ananda (Bengali), ABP Majha (Marathi), ABP Asmita (Gujarati), ABP Ganga (Hindi), ABP Sanjha (Punjabi), ABP Live (English), among others.
Nürnberger is one of the major regional newspapers in Germany. With its large print run the newspaper boasts of more than 20 different editions in five city districts and ten districts of Middle Franconia and neighbouring regions of Upper Franconia and the Upper Palatinate. Newspaper houses that use AdSelf increase their ad revenue by using integrated up-selling strategies that have proven to be successful.
Users of AdSelf have the option of selecting alternative, higher-quality formats to present their ads. Sales points, where employees book orders from advertisers in AdSelf, also receive support. One of the new features in AdSelf is a special workflow for undertakers that allow newspaper houses to create ads both with and without customer data. People who place obituaries can therefore either pay the publisher for their bookings or pay the funeral parlour directly.
Furthermore, AdSelf now features an interface to mobile.de, one of the largest vehicle markets in Germany. The mobile.de workflow is geared towards car dealers that realise and view their ads on the vehicle market in a list in AdSelf, and they can automatically generate print ads based on templates.
AdSelf will include more interfaces in future, which will make it a real cross-channel ad portal. There are plans to allow end customers who use AdSelf to book ads with a publisher to place these ads on various social networks as digital social media ads. That will increase the publisher’s potential revenue even further.
