When the epidemic of coronavirus has shuddered the business and normal lives across the globe, ppi Media stands up to ensure everyone in the industry, every family in the society and all of its employees are doing well and coping with the dreaded situation. The company announces its 100 percent availability to support their Indian customers during the COVID-19 crisis.

The team ppi Media put together a comprehensive package of measures in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing its employees to work from home – wherever possible – to ensure their health and safety and fully maintain support services. The company’s uninterrupted performance is also supported by the fact that the company officially forms part of Germany’s critical infrastructure. This means that employees at ppi Media could make use of options like emergency childcare when necessary. This has allowed ppi Media to ensure the full continuation of its customer care and support.

For Indian customers

To ensure digital distribution options for newspapers, ppi Media also provides free licenses for its e-paper solution for Indian customers until the end of the COVID-19 crisis. In a way, the company is 100 percent available for its Indian customers. The printed press and quality independent journalism are absolutely essential during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As a leading service provider in the field of automated newspaper production, ppi Media plays an important role in ensuring newspaper production for its Indian publishing customers.

As ppi Media employees work from home and maintain the company’s support services, this has allowed them to ensure the full continuation of its customer care. As a result, publishing customers in India can be sure that their newspaper production will not run into technical difficulties in a general state of emergency. This applies to all ppi Media solutions – from planning to content creation.

Partner in crisis situation

Like it does in India, ppi Media is also expanding its range of services for international publishing customers to ensure the maintenance of critical infrastructure in the current situation. In recent weeks, for example, the company has helped its customers to ensure the connection of employees working from home and to outsource production to new printing houses when printing service providers have been at risk of inactivity.

“We’re actively approaching our customers to determine potential issues where we can offer support. Our international customers, such as publishing companies in India, can rely 100 percent on our services. Our Indian customers will also receive free licenses for our e-paper solution until the end of the COVID-19 crisis to ensure digital distribution options for newspapers,” explains Dr Hauke Berndt, CEO of ppi Media. He conclusively urges, “We’re pleased to see that our technologies and structures developed in recent years offer our customers a high level of reliability in the current situation”.

Highly efficient solutions and services

Over the years ppi Media develops highly efficient solutions and services for media companies. The software house was founded in 1984 and has become the leading workflow specialist for automated newspaper production since that inception. Around 80 percent of all daily newspapers in Germany are produced using products by ppi Media.

Media companies in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the US rely on the firm’s solutions in their daily work and use them in the planning, production, and editorial workflows of their digital and print products. ppi Media also accompanies companies seeking innovation in their digital transformation process. The company’s portfolio includes the agile development of digital solutions using modern design thinking methods and providing innovation advice throughout the different stages of a company’s change process.

Once again, ppi Media honoured with ‘Innovation Through Research’ seal

The Stifterverband association has once again presented ppi Media with its ‘Innovation Through Research’ seal. The basis for the award is an annual survey conducted by the association’s department for science statistics on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Since 2014, Stifterverband has awarded the ‘Innovation Through Research’ seal to companies that take part in a biannual census on research and development in the German economy. After taking part in 2016, ppi Media has renewed its support of the initiative after making more strong investments in research and development in 2020. The manufacturer focuses on the creation and development of software solutions for media produced by international publishing houses.

The solutions developed by ppi Media are used to produce publications like The New York Times, BILD and Dainik Jagran—some of the most widely read daily newspapers in the world – as well as around 80 percent of all daily newspapers on the German market. Being a leading service provider in the field of automated newspaper production, ppi Media is playing an important role in maintaining press production and protecting critical infrastructure during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

Sharing his views on the award, Dr Hauke Berndt, CEO of ppi Media GmbH, says, “Research and development is crucial for our company and the media industry. Thanks to the constant review and development of our solutions, we’re able to continue providing media companies with the best possible support in the current situation and ensure the smooth continuation of the newspapers and magazines produced by our customers.”
