Business Standard appoints new Executive Director

AK Bhattacharya has been appointed as Executive Director of Business Standard Private Limited. He was earlier the Editorial Director and before that the editor of the newspaper. Experienced economic journalist with a demonstrated history of working in the newspapers industry, AK Bhattacharya set the bar for business reporting as the chief of bureau at Economic Times in the early 1990s, when economic reforms raged. He had a ringside view to many other disruptions, creative and otherwise, during his four decades in journalism, a journey that started when he switched careers after a year of teaching. He then went on to become the editor of Pioneer and Business Standard. He then became Business Standard’s editorial director and a writer of two long-running columns – New Delhi Diary and Raisina Hill.
