Lokmat introduces New Delhi edition

Marathi daily Lokmat has recently launched its New Delhi edition, celebrating the start of its centenary year. Present at the landmark event were a host of political leaders including M Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India; former PM Dr Manmohan Singh; Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal; Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road, Transport & Highways, Shipping & Water Resources; Prakash Javedkar, Union HRD Minister; Ravi Prasad, Union Minister of IT; Chowdhury Birender Singh, Minister of Steel; and PJ Kurian, Rajya Sabha Vice Chairman.
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis attended the launch function later in the evening. Being the ‘Voice of Maharashtra’, Lokmat, which literally means ‘People’s Opinion’, was founded in 1971 and is published from Mumbai, with city editions all over Maharashtra. The newspaper has 11 editions, 45 sub-editions, and a widespread network of correspondents and reporters. The newspaper also runs other activities including sports leagues across various cities in Maharashtra, specifically focusing on cricket and football.
