Winners announced for African Digital Media Awards 2022

The winners of WAN-IFRA’s African Digital Media Awards were announced during the recent Digital Media Africa 2022 virtual conference. The Awards recognise news publishers who have delivered unique and original digital media projects in the last 12 months. This year the association had a record number of entries submitted!

Mangeons bien, Tunisia won Best News Website or Mobile Service, and other winners with their respective accolades are Arena Holdings, South Africa (Best Use of Online Video); Tunisia

Inkyfada (Best Data Visualisation); Pulse Instagram – Pulse, Ghana (Best in Audience Engagement); Maverick Insider – Daily Maverick, South Africa (Best Reader Revenue Initiative); First Thing by John Stupart – Daily Maverick, South Africa (Best Newsletter); El Kul – BBC Media Action, Libya (Best Trust Initiative); My Only Story: Back to School – Media24, South Africa (Best Use of Audio); Health For Mzansi – Food For Mzansi, South Africa (Best Gen Z Initiative); and Business Insider and Nedbank’s Behind the Business Headlines – Media24, South Africa (Best Digital Advertising Project). All six winners of the first six categories will go head-to-head and compete against other regions for the title of Digital Media World Award Winner 2022.
