ong-standing KBA user Heraldo de Aragón recently welcomed representatives from almost all the important newspaper printers in Spain to an open house at their print centre Impresa Norte in Villa-nueva de Gállego – a perfect opportunity to show off the company’s new compact KBA Commander CT press. All those attending were impressed by the performance capabilities, simple handling and quality of full-colour print demonstrated during a live presentation.

On the occasion, introducing the modern print centre with a KBA Comet press installed in 2005 and the new compact Commander CT, José Manuel Lozano Orus, managing director of the Heraldo Group, said that the production and cost benefits arising from the latest investments are viewed as the key to continued success on a changing market. With its practice-proven PlateTronic automatic plate changers, for example, the Commander CT permits very fast edition changes, and thus enables newspaper production to be geared even more strongly to specific target groups. And the high quality of the four-high tower press in full-colour production already speaks for itself. KBA sales manager Christian Klein spotlighted the latest innovations offered by KBA, one of the market and technology leaders in newspaper printing. The compact, but nevertheless exceptionally operator-friendly Commander CT and its waterless sister press Cortina, in particular, stand out with a whole host of unique features.

3TControl, a startup company within the Heraldo Group, also presented the closed-loop automation installed on the presses for colour register, cut-off register and ink density control.
