viz. Digital Ink Control System,

What it this system now
seriously looks at is the gearless
volumetric ink injectors that
precisely control ink flow and
set image density by metering
the ink flow of each key. Digital
volume metering eliminates the
need for setting the fountain
blade assembly and pick up
roller, eliminating the need
for gap setting that improves
reliability, lowers maintenance
cost and produces a more
consistent image through the
entire print run by avoiding
the fluctuating characteristic of
open fountain. It also replaces
worn keys and eliminates
re-calibrating. This system helps
the press reach density targets
very fast as it accelerates to
minimise start up waste.
Double Roll Stand with
Auto Splicer (DRS/AS)
DRS/AS is a free standing
compact splicer with sequential
start in auto mode in order to
ensure splicing at preset diameter
of the expiring web. Such
mechanism ensures continuous
printing without having to stop
the machine for free change.
DRS was introduced as semiautomatic
double roll stand with
the objective of saving space and
time for manual changing of rolls.
The compact design and lowest
possible height is ideal for limited
space requirements, especially in
newspapers and books printing
with advanced features of
PLC operated drive systems
and auto lifting of rolls from
trolley. Designed for multi-web
single-width presses, motorised
chuck insertion increases
operator’s efficiency and safety.
Online Stacker &
Bundler
This very sturdy retrofit will
neatly stack and bundle the
signatures before post-press
operations to minimise manpower
and transport wastage. As an
optional along with the stacker,
90 degree turn table can be
attached to the web folder for
accommodating the log stackers
in barest minimum space in
front of folder’s signature
delivery table. This changes
the signature’s stream directly by
90 degree either on left or right
side depending on availability of
space or requirement of the user.
So, the stacker-bundler occupies
lesser space since it gets placed
parallel to the web machine. Half
page, quarter page and double
parallel folded signatures can
be handled by this turn table at
variable speed control.
Free Standing
Auto Paster
Pressline has tailor-made options
to offer auto splicer as standalone
with mounting of PRIMA mono
units or 4x4 tower concepts to
suit for every need. Its advantages
are: i) it can be incorporated with
any make of press; ii) it can be
installed at 90 degree; and iii) it
can be installed in basement with
overhead printing unit.
Blanket Washer
This device can be proved to be
the most useful in saving wastage
of paper/newsprint. These days,
most of the papers are having
lot of lint which gets deposited
on the blankets after short runs
ranging from 7-10 thousand
impressions. The quality of
printing cannot be achieved
if blankets have lint on them.
This equipment works while the
machine is running. Blanket bars
equipped with pneumatically
operated brushes are retrofitted
on the blankets through required
number of nozzles while brush
automatically comes down and
cleans the blanket cylinders and
they work while the machine is
running. The solvent gets sprayed
on the blankets through required
number of nozzles while brush
automatically comes down and
cleans the blanket with linear
motion. During this process
the machine is slowed down
to minimise the wastage as all
the lint goes into the paper/web.
The average number of copies
wasted during the process just
remains around 25 depending
upon skill of the operator.
Mini IR Dryer
This is a mini infrared dryer
which basically works for cold
set web offset machine to arrest
the set off problem. Prior to
the web entering the folder, it
passes through IR Dryers (on
both sides) which are equipped
with blowers. These dryers can
be retrofitted on any type of
web offset folders. For Goss
Community/Pressline type of
machines, standard blankets for
mounting of dryers are available
but for other machines/models/
folders, special blankets can be
manufactured.
In-Feed & Out-Feed
Devices
This equipment has been
developed by Pressline to do
away with the ghost image/
doubling problems in web offset
machines. The major advantage
of this system is that it keeps
the circumferential registration
consistent even at variable speed.
The biggest problem observed in
web offset machines is that the
registration gets disturbed if the
machine speed is increased or
decreased which results into lots
of paper wastage. This system, if
incorporated, can save time and
paper wastage to a large extent.
Pressline is now moving swiftly

the support equipments and
has found ready acceptance of
the concept in domestic and
overseas markets.
