with a new branch in Odisha

Recognised its distinctions with Limca Book of Records

Vertical as well as horizontal expansions in the current activities of Noida-headquartered Vibha Publication Private Limited provide a new platform through which budding dailies, weeklies and fortnightlies can penetrate new destinations at pan-India level. Mayank Agarwal of Vibha Publication Private Limited talked to All About Newspapers to reveal what all inventive utilities this award-winning newspaper printer would offer to its clients for new boosts in the industry.

What it has been kept as main objective at Vibha Publication Private Limited since its establishment in the year 1990 is to provide a strategic platform where newspaper publishers from different corners of the country can come to get the optimum benefits, facilities and finest prints under the company’s common roof. “Recent opening of our new branch in Cuttak (Odisha) is a strategic step which we would like to carry forward in a bigger and broader ways across the country in near future,” mentioned Mayank Agarwal of Vibha Publication Private Limited. He added that the next three years will witness rapid expansion in the production facilities of the company.

Odisha and beyond

Vibha Publication Private Limited boasts of its newly unveiled Cuttak branch where printing two of the most acclaimed dailies in the region viz. The Times of India and The Economic Times. The company’s grand expansion at regional level would persuade national dailies and others to hit the road towards new destinations which have not been exploited so far. “Keeping ‘affordability’ and ‘satisfaction’ as main emphasis in our association with clients, we always think of helping customers to launch their regional editions at remotest corners of the country,” remarked Mayank adding that Cuttak branch of Vibha Publication Private Limited was opened under the intention to pull leading newspapers to the regional market.

Reckoned to be one of the biggest achievements which Vibha Publication Private Limited has been proud of is the recognition of the company’s outstanding printing capacity by Limca Book of Records in three consecutive years (2011, 2012 and 2013). This printing conglomerate has bagged the prestigious national records for churning out highest number of newspaper titles from one centre across the country. Limca Book of Records recognised Vibha Publication Private Limited for the first time in 2011 for printing 14 dailies and 16 weeklies/fortnightlies. The statistics kept surging as they increased the volume to 19 dailies and 16 weeklies/fortnightlies in 2012. And the latest recognition with a new record this year is for printing 18 dailies and 28 weeklies/fortnightlies. “It’s really great to be honoured with such prestigious awards. We are very confident that Limca Book of Records has acknowledged us enough for our next level recognition at Guinness Book of World Records,” mentioned Mayank.

Leading titles

Titles which have been printed at Vibha Publication Private Limited's production set-up for years include some of the highest-circulated national dailies like The Times of India, The Economic Times, Malayala Manorama, The Statement, Business Standard, Enadu, Sahafat, Panchjanya, to mention a few. “We are really proud to declare that our customers feel fully satisfied with our services and print quality with minimum wastage in production processes,” remarked Mayank adding that the company gratifies the need and requirement of quality-conscious clients like Malayala Manorama, The Times of India, The Statement, etc. Vibha Publication Private Limited is proud of associating with Enadu for 10 years, Malayala Manorama for 8 years.

Mayank opined that the newspaper printing market of Delhi is now in a saturation stage. But there is still scope for regional vernaculars like Samaj of Odisha to establish themselves in the capital city. “We are here to uplift the spirits of these enthusiastic budding players, looking at 2013-14 as years of new launches for some regional newspapers from the far-off destinations like Mumbai, Assam and Odisha in the city,” said Mayank.

Outstanding capacity

Constant upgrades in the production set-up of Vibha Publication Private Limited in Noida maintain the competence in the company’s uniqueness in print outputs. At present, newly installed two AGFA CtPs deliver 50 plates each per hour, which were just 20 plates per hour earlier. There are three sets of Lines (Printer House & KK Web-presses) at the facility in which Line 1 is capable of printing four colour pages out of 16 pages; Line 2 is capable to print 20 pages including 8 in colour; and Line 3 produces 20 pages, out of which, 6 pages are in colour. Sooner than later, one more tower will be added in the Line 2 so that it would print 12 colour and 12 B/W pages.

“After July this year, we are coming up with another Line with the adoption of a brand new Manugraph M360 press,” said Mayank adding, “We found the newspaper market of Odisha is heading to a new height. So, we will add one more unit in the Odisha facility.” Currently, the Odisha set-up is equipped with two KODAK CtPs with a Manugraph Cityline printing machine which is capable to print 24 pages (16 colour pages and 8 B/W) in one go.

Further expansion

Around 25 people operating the printing of one and a half lakh newspaper copies every night at Vibha Publication’s Noida facility and at Odisha facility, 15 professionals are behind the machineries,” said Mayank. He conclusively mentioned that two more branches of Vibha Publication Private Limited would be opened in northern and eastern parts of the country sooner than expected.
