Glunz & Jensen receives several
orders for punch/benders

he installation base of state-of-the-art equipments from Glunz & Jensen is expanding fast all over the world. The company received several orders from Asia besides Africa, Europe and the US.


The News Journal in White Plains produces all of its plates through three Glunz & Jensen VisionMaster punch/benders.
For United Printing and Publishing of Abu Dhabi (UAE), Dynagraph for Printing Industry LLC ordered two new ProVision Alliance punch/benders, three UTM-H conveyors, two CD-H cross conveyors and two stackers to allow three CtP engines to feed the two punch/benders.

Fujifilm Malaysia SDN BHD of Shah Alam (Malaysia) purchased two single plate lines consisting of two ProVision Alliances, two CM conveyors and two stackers for China Press of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. While Accel Graphics of Shah Alam, Selangor (Malaysia) ordered two new ProVision Alliance punch/bend lines for Sin Chew Jit Poh, Singapore.

The two lines consist of a ProVision Alliance, UTM-Rotator and a stacker. Three new Precision Edge punch/benders will be installed at the three Vintage Press sites in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Cyan SA of Madrid, Spain, ordered two new ProVision Alliance punch/benders for RotoMadrid. The two new ProVision Alliance punch/benders, along with two existing Glunz & Jensen punch/benders, will produce plates from four existing Glunz & Jensen XLV CtP units. Six new conveyors and stackers along with five retrofit kits for existing equipment were ordered to automate the plate lines. The four plate lines will feed plates to four punch/benders automatically. While bar codes will direct the plates to any one of the four punch/benders and collate and stack the plates according to the customer’s request.

Glunz & Jensen European punch/bend technicians are also installing one ProVision Alliance, two UTM-H conveyors, one CD-H cross conveyor and stacker to produce plates from two CtP lines at el Correo Gallego, Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

While US-based Gannett Corporation ordered six VisonMaster punch/benders: one for News Journal, Wilmington (DE); two for Tennessean, Nashville (TN) and three for The News Journal, White Plains (NY). The VisionMasters in Nashville and White Plains are punching and bending plates for both 46- and 44-inch web widths, while the Wilmington facility will install them at the time of their web reduction that is set for 44 inches. All sites ordered conveyors and stackers to complement their new VisionMaster punch benders to maintain automated plate production.

Konica Minolta Graphic Imaging, Grand Rapids (US) has also jumped on the economic bandwagon and ordered a VisionMaster for Mail Tribune. The VisionMaster is Glunz & Jensen’s first true vision-to-target registration punch bender priced under $50,000.

Tech Energy Inc of Cibolo (US) ordered new CML press registration lockups for Reporter, Midland for their web reduction slated for early September. The Virginian Pilot, Norfolk (US), purchased a retrofit kit for their ProVision Alliance punch/bender. The retrofit kit is in conjunction with their web conversion from 48-inch web to 46-inch web.
