Kolkata to host WAN-IFRA India 2016 for first time
For the first time, WAN-IFRA India arrives in Kolkata
— the City of Joy and the origin of some of the oldest
newspapers of the country. To be organised from
September 21-22, WAN-IFRA 2016 conference will
attract more than 350 delegates from the across South
Asia and some parts of the globe.
WAN-IFRA 2016 in Kolkata is also
bringing the World Printers Forum to
India for the first time. This forum is
a perfectly designed meeting platform for global
leaders of newspaper printing community. In
addition, the two-day conference will also feature
two parallel summits, viz. Newsroom Summit
and Cross Media Advertising Summit, which
have been structured to discuss trends and
practices impacting the news media business.

Elated to the decision on hosting the WAN-IFRA
conference in Kolkata, DD Purkayastha, MD &

Pre-conference workshops
WAN-IFRA 2016 will include
three parallel pre-conference
workshops to be organised
on September 20, stressing
on key topics consisting
of printing, newsroom and
advertising. The conference
will also offer select infotable
expo booths where
suppliers from India and
abroad will showcase their
products and services. “Kolkata
as the venue for WAN-IFRA India
2016 is overwhelming,” said Magdoom Mohamed,
managing director of WAN-IFRA South Asia,
adding that they are now working to make this
a memorable event for the news publishing
industry in the South Asia region.
