manroland customers leading
in printing and colour quality

From India, Hindi Hindustan, Hindustan Times,
Mint, and The Times of India mark success in INCQC

“Together with them the whole manroland AG is happy about the success of its customers at the International Newspaper Color Quality Club of WAN-IFRA,” commented Paul Steidle, member of the executive board, webfed, and Peter Kuisle, executive vice president, sales web printing systems, at manroland. The members of the Newspaper Color Quality Club 2010 give an impressive demonstration of their capacity to produce in accordance with the exacting ISO standards.

This time 162 dailies sought to be the members of International Newspaper Color Quality Club (INCQC) for the years 2010-2012, but 109 newspapers succeeded. Something else is obvious: quality freaks cannot bypass manroland. In this champions’ league, as many as 37 out of the successful newspapers are printed on manroland presses. This makes the world market leader technology a first in the renowned WAN-IFRA club for high-quality newspaper products.

Apart from the 37 newspapers (as given in the appended list) more than forty printing locations featuring manroland printing systems fulfilled the quality norm, The Times of India was even decorated for three production sites. “We are proud that so many of our customers fulfilled the demanding conditions for the INCQC,” commented Paul Steidle, executive board member, product division, web printing systems at manroland, adding, “Due to them we are holding this leading position. This is a confirmation for our future development work and it cheers us on.”

Those publishing houses and printing companies who want to make their newspapers fit for the future are focusing on quality. It makes sure newspapers stay attractive for readers and advertising customers while enabling a successful position within the media competition. Here manroland is a reliable, groundbreaking, and international partner: the global player is close to wherever newspapers are printed. The production locations of the new members in the INCQC are demonstrating this: Germany and Ecuador are among them, Dubai and Slovenia, Italy and Finland, the USA and India.

To join the club the competition participants had to print a test element and provide printing samples every month during a four months period. Reproduction and colour printing quality were judged within rigid tolerances. Their commitment brings the newspapers not only the coveted club membership and an improved image with their readers and advertising customers: the WAN-IFRA also supports the participants in implementing the ISO standards for an optimised printing process. Of course, the new club members are going to be honored, too: the award ceremony will take place in October at IFRA Expo in Hamburg.

Notably, amid 109 newspapers from 43 countries, who have been awarded membership in the INCQC for 2010 through 2012, the fourteen newspapers are from India including: Anandabazar Patrika, Dainik Bhaskar, Dainik Jagran, Deccan Herald, Divya Bhaskar, DNA, Hindustan, Hindustan Times, Malayala Manorama, Mid Day, Mint, The Hindu, The Telegraph and The Times of India. In these Indian winners, Hindi Hindustan, Hindustan Times, Mint, and The Times of India are being printed on manroland machines. Hindi Hindustan and Hindustan Times were also among INCQC 2008–10 members.
