Goss International to champion a competitive advantage for offset
Stand 07-C456

Continuing the theme ‘New Ways for Print’ at IPEX 2010, reflecting their focus on innovations that help customers optimize existing operations or break away from traditional production constraints, Goss International is poised to champion a competitive advantage for offset. The theme - as exemplified by key technologies such as the Sunday 5000 press, Ecochill drying, Triliner enhancement and Goss Folia production capabilities - will be represented and demonstrated throughout the Goss International exhibit in Hall 7.

“‘New Ways for Print’ underlines our ability to deliver initiatives that help printers upgrade their capabilities or differentiate themselves by pursuing new opportunities and business models,” commented Jacques Navarre, senior vice president of sales, marketing and product management for Goss International, explaining, “This ethos is hard-wired throughout the Goss International infrastructure and typifies our approach to customers and to product development. We are not distracted by the perceived boundaries between processes, but have focused on the dynamics that shape the demand for print and keep our customers competitive.”

“IPEX 2010 provides the perfect opportunity to present our strengthened structure and a wider product portfolio. It is also a glimpse of the future as we target broader sectors with our new partners. All the pieces of the puzzle are not in place yet but we will work more closely with the SEC (Shanghai Electric Corporation) companies as the relationship matures. From a purely Goss International perspective, we are showing the latest updates on key technology developments first presented at Drupa 2008. They are now successfully installed and fulfilling expectations. Our other focus is, of course, our existing customer base where new initiatives continue to help drive efficiencies and enable printers to expand beyond the confines of their traditional production and markets,” added Navarre.

At the event, Goss International - incorporating products of the Shanghai Electric Printing & Packaging Machinery group, that is: YAWA, AKIYAMA, FEIDA, PURLUX - will extend this principle to a broader audience, including packaging and sheetfed printers. The company also anticipates an interchange of technologies and market knowledge enabling more customers to benefit from innovation, value, choice and responsiveness. IPEX 2010 will be the first presentation of Goss products and SEC products together in Europe.

Key products highlighted on the stand will be: Goss Sunday 5000 press, Goss Folia press, leading-edge automation including the latest Ecochill drying technology, Goss packaging solutions, Akiyama MEGA Jprint perfecting, YAWA die-cutting and foiling, Goss Purlux 1200 saddlestitching, and Feida automated guillotine systems.

“The Sunday 5000 press is not only a technological triumph in its own right,” said Jacques Navarre, “The fact that we are able to take visions developed with our customers and complete the research and development, engineering, build and installation within a two-year period bears testament to the agile business we are creating for the future. Agility is one of the foundations of our business going forward, as we integrate the expertise and activities of SEC into our worldwide network.”

Similar to last drupa, the sheetfed sector is to showcase application examples in the VAP Tunnel where customers will be informed in detail how innovative solutions can increase the quality and efficiency of printing. This will be illustrated with the aid of technical exhibits, print samples and practical examples. Furthermore, manroland will demonstrate with the ecometer how sustainable printing works, and present its wide variety of services in the Printvalue competence center.
