Yet another order for mRC-3D to Q.I. Press Controls has been made by

been innovated in the automation process of the newspaper. Let’s discover the latest.
Q.I. Press Controls has
been working with
Malayala Manorama
for years. During the
span, various aspects in the
use of automation in production
process in the newspaper’s
plants have been progressed.
And results at their sites have
proved so good that Malayala
Manorama had no hesitation in
ordering Q.I. Press Controls’
mRC-3D register system for
its Manugraph Smartline press
in Kollam.
Most widely circulated
Malayala Manorama owns
around 25 leading daily and
weekly newspapers in India,
published in both English and
Malayalam. The organisation
operates from nineteen printing
plants located in different
cities and towns across the
country. Apart from being
the most circulated daily in
India, Malayala Manorama
(since 2011) is one of the most
widely circulated newspapers
in the world. In this respect,
Menno Jansen, managing
director, Q.I. Press Controls
expressed his gratitude towards
the new development saying

Moreover, taking a great deal of
pride in the string of orders of
mRC-3D register system from
Malayala Manorama, Menno
Jansen said, “Continuously
receiving orders for the mRC-3D
cameras demonstrates that Q.I.
Press Controls is fit with the
leading players (newspapers) on
the international circuit, so we
are justly proud.” Collaboration
between Q.I. Press Controls and
Malayala Manorama started
in 2011.
Long relationship
Malayala Manorama is the user
of Manugraph’s first Smartline
double-width printing press.
Since the adoption of the smart
press, the newspaper has been
on the hunt for a supplier
of automated solutions that
can provide the best possible
support. References on the
India market pointed to the
reliability offered by Q.I. Press
Controls; as a result, Malayala
Manorama opted for 48 of
Q.I. Press Controls’ mRC+
cameras. In doing so, the
newspaper affirmed its faith in
Q.I. Press Controls’ assurance
to enable top-quality printing
with the lowest possible
levels of waste.
First order in 2011 and
the subsequent upturns in
return led to Malayala
Manorama’s string of orders
for mRC-3D cameras from
Q.I. Press Controls. As
on today, mRC+ cameras
have been installed at four
different sites of the newspaper.
Malayala Manorama explains
that the systems have proved
their worth several times over.
They further mention that Q.I.
Press Controls’ automated
solutions work effectively on
the printing presses now running
productively at the newspaper’s
production plants.
Fifth order
The new or the fifth order
of mRC-3D cameras for the
Malayala Manorama’s plant
in Kollam consists of the new
model, the successor to the
mRC+. In this, 18 mRC-3D
cameras are being installed for
colour register and cut-off on the
Manugraph Smartline press with
4 towers and 1 folder. According
to Malayala Manorama, in the
wake of results from previous
orders, they are every confident
in installing the new system on
their Manugraph press in Kollam.
Vijay Pandya, MD, Q.I. Press
Controls India, remarks, “This
is a very important order for
us that states that we deliver
proven and reliable solutions. It
also proves the effects of our
continuous efforts to provide
high-standard services offered
by a highly skilled technical
team that speaks the language
of the customer.”
Long history of collaboration
with Malayala Manorama also
demonstrates Q.I. Press Controls
India’s ability to build up a
good network of contacts. In
this respect, Vijay Pandya states
that the Q.I. Press Controls
India’s service engineers provide
an excellent service and they
are able to give Malayala
Manorama the level of support
they require. For Q.I. Press
Controls, Malayala Manorama
is the paradigm of a satisfied
customer in India.
Not only the Q.I. Press Controls’
automated solutions have
brought about less wastage to
Malayala Manorama, fewer
machine operators are now
needed and it takes significantly
less time to print an edition.
Most importantly, t h e s e

in high quality. Collaboration
between the two organisations
is now accelerating to feeding
