Indian Printers Summit 2022 to discuss way forward for longevity of print

This year, built around the theme ‘Back to Business – Print for the Future’, WAN-IFRA’s annual event Indian Printers Summit 2022 is all set to celebrate print success in the region and discuss the way forward for longevity of print. A curate set of keynotes and panel discussions will help shape the thought leadership for the print industry.

Indian Printers Summit 2022 will start on September 14 with the keynote on ‘Future of print in digital world’, discussing the imperatives of print business. A mini networking expo to learn about the latest products and services from suppliers industry and a celebration ‘gala’ dinner in the evening will conclude the day.

A half-day workshop on benchmarking newspaper production based on KPIs will also be organised on September 14 before noon. The next day of the conference, on September15, WAN-IFRA will gather for full day of conference sessions and networking expo.

Audience at the conference will consist of CEOs, MDs, Technical Directors, Production Heads, Plant Managers, Prepress Managers, and other senior news publishing leaders. This industry rendezvous will bring together around 200 participants from WAN-IFRA member companies and other publishers from India and rest of South Asia.

First Day

The opening keynote on the first day will be on ‘content that will never go out of fashion. What holds good for the future of print in digital world.’ In the subsequent session, there will be roundtable on ‘Back to business and revival of print.’ In the session, publishers of leading newspapers in India will discuss the post-pandemic revival of print and the ensuing new opportunities.

Welcome dinner at the end of the first day will accompany ‘Celebrating Print’, and, Recognition of ICQC winners from India.

Second Day

The second day of the conference on September 15 will have the session on ‘Newsprint challenges and the way forward for the industry—publishers and suppliers perspectives. It will be followed by panel discussion on ‘Optimising materials and other ideas. In the times of price raise and the demand for printing materials, how do publishers and suppliers manage their resources?’ The discussion will be on the challenges and ideas that worked for close management of key supply chain. Technology managers and suppliers will be in the panel of speakers during the discussion session.

In the subsequent session, there will be a discourse on ‘Digital printing of newspapers – the possibilities and business case.’ Closing session of the will shed spotlight on ‘Successful innovations and new ways of operating in print publishing.’ Other topics will include Industry 4.0—What is it all about and its relevance in manufacturing.

There will be discussion on UV curing/gloss printing with a case study on value added printing using UV curing and LED UV. Other topics include asset utilisation – co-printing, an age-old concept that never loses relevance and successful ideas of doing it the best way. In addition, another topic will be on IT in printing: Real time data analysis to manage printing plants effectively.

There will be closing remarks and end of the conference with expo and networking.
