Digital subscription of Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter surged amid COVID-19

Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter saw dramatic growth in traffic and digital subscriptions amid the COVID-19 crisis. The newspaper conducted webinar in which Martin Jönsson, Head of Editorial Development at Dagens Nyheter, detailed how the newspaper has achieved it, especially with approximately 90 percent of the Bonnier-owned publisher working remotely during the COVID-19 crisis. He also described how Dagens Nyheter, in his mind, has approached digital subscription strategy in a bit of an unorthodox way compared to others. Martin has played an integral role in Dagens Nyheter’s digital transformation and innovation around digital subscriptions strategy, much of that being driven by the newsroom.
